ARRI’s approach is to deliver the best overall image quality with a film-like, organic look and feel.
This is achieved through a combination of unique qualities involving the image sensor, color science, and image processing. One of the most important image quality parameters determined by the sensor is dynamic range—ARRI cameras provide the widest dynamic range measured in a digital film camera. This gives cinematographers the freedom to create images with the most vivid contrast and detail. Just as important is the rendition of color—with special emphasis on pleasing, natural skin tones. ARRI’s state-of-the-art color science permits the truest possible representation of every color, in every scene. Colorists enjoy working with ARRI images because they are clean, pliable, and significantly faster to grade than those from other cameras. VFX artists also appreciate ARRI images since their accurate color rendition simplifies compositing and the integration of CG elements.
